# How to schedule a post on X and see your scheduled posts

Schedule a post on X from the web, find it later in your scheduled posts, and edit or delete it before it goes out. No paid plan needed.

Published 1 October 2026 · by Dan · Guides.

On launch day there is always something more urgent than writing a post. If the announcement is written and scheduled a few days before, it goes out at the right time whatever else is happening.

X can schedule posts in its own post window, for free. This guide shows how to do it on the web, where the scheduled posts are kept, and how to change them. Steps were last checked on 1 October 2026.

## Schedule a post on the web

1. On x.com, click **Post** in the left sidebar, or use the post box at the top of your home feed.
2. Write the post, and add any images, a GIF or a video.
3. Click the **schedule** icon (a calendar with a clock) in the row of icons under the text.
4. Pick a date and a time, then click **Confirm**.
5. The **Post** button now says **Schedule**. Click it.

X schedules in your own time zone. If your launch is timed for another region, convert the time before you pick it.

You don't need X Premium to schedule from the web. The scheduler handles one post at a time, so it can't schedule a thread.

## On the phone app

Scheduling has been slower to arrive in the X apps, and in September 2026 X started rolling it out to everyone on iPhone. If you see the same calendar icon in the app's post window, the steps are the same as on the web. If you don't see it, schedule from x.com in a browser. Posts scheduled there still go out when you are away from your computer.

## Find your scheduled posts

Scheduled posts don't appear on your profile until they go out. To see them on the web:

1. Click **Post** to open the post window.
2. Click **Drafts** at the top right of the window. Depending on your version of X, it may say **Unsent posts**.
3. Open the **Scheduled** tab.

Another way in: click the **schedule** icon, then **Scheduled posts** at the bottom left of the date picker. Either way you get a list of every scheduled post with its date and time.

## Edit, reschedule or delete a scheduled post

In the **Scheduled** tab:

- **Change the text or media**: click the post, make the change, then save it again.
- **Change the time**: open the post, click the **schedule** icon, pick the new time, click **Confirm**, then save the post again.
- **Delete it**: click **Edit** above the list, tick the post, click **Delete**, then **Delete** again to confirm.

A deleted scheduled post is gone for good, so copy the text somewhere first if you might want it later.

## Plan the posts around your launch

Most launches need more than one post: a teaser the week before, the announcement on the day, and a follow-up with what happened. On X it also helps to post again later on launch day for people in other time zones. Schedule each post when its text is ready, then open the **Scheduled** tab the day before launch to check every time and link.

Put the posting dates in the same place as the rest of the launch plan. [Plainrival Timeline](https://plainrival.com/timeline) is a free launch planner for that: a calendar, a dated checklist for each day and a progress bar per phase. Add "Schedule X announcement" to the day you write it and "Check scheduled posts" to the day before launch, so a moved launch date doesn't leave an old post behind.
