# Plainrival Timeline: a calm launch planner

Plan a launch on a calendar, with dated checklists and one progress bar per plan. No AI, no assignees, nothing to set up.

## What it does

When a competitor moves, a go-to-market team often answers with a launch of its own. Timeline is where you plan it. A timeline holds plans like “Teaser” and “Launch week”, each plan holds dated days, and each day holds a short checklist. Each plan's progress bar turns orange when the plan is done.

- **A calendar on the left.** Days with something planned are marked.
- **A clean page on the right.** Days in date order, each with its checklist.
- **Nothing else.** No AI, no assignees, no comments, no dependencies and no Gantt charts.

## How it works

1. **Create a timeline.** Name it after the launch, for example “October launch”.
2. **Add plans and days.** Split the launch into plans, pick a date and add the items for that day.
3. **Tick things off.** Each plan's bar fills as you go. At 100% it glows orange.

## Questions

### Does Timeline use AI?

No, and it won't. It is a calendar, dated checklists and progress bars.

### Can I assign items to people or add comments?

No. Timeline has no assignees, comments, dependencies or Gantt charts. If you need those, a project management tool fits better.

### Do I need the competitor tracker to use it?

No. Timeline works on its own with a free Plainrival account.

### How is progress measured?

Per plan: ticked items divided by all items in that plan. Click a plan's bar to show only that plan's days.
