# Competitor pricing tracking

Know when a competitor changes a price, a plan or what a plan includes. Plainrival checks their pricing page daily and says what it means for you.

## What it does

Plainrival reads each competitor's pricing page every day. When it changes, you get the text before and after, a screenshot and the date. If the change matters, it also says why and suggests one move.

- **Prices and plans.** A price up or down, a plan added, renamed or removed.
- **What each plan includes.** A feature moving between plans, new limits, a changed trial.
- **Pages built with JavaScript.** Plainrival loads those in a real browser.

## How it works

1. **Add the pricing page.** Add a competitor and include their pricing page in the pages to watch.
2. **Plainrival checks daily.** It compares the page with the last saved version. No change, nothing to read.
3. **See the before and after.** Both versions, a screenshot and what the change means for your own plans.

## Questions

### What counts as a pricing change?

Any change to the text of a pricing page: prices, plan names, plans added or removed, features moving between plans, limits and trial terms. A typo fix ranks far below a price rise.

### How quickly will I know?

Pricing pages are checked once a day. A change is in your change history the same day, and in your weekly brief if it matters.

### Can I see what a competitor charged before?

Yes. Every change is saved with its date, the old and new text and a screenshot. A separate price chart is not part of the first release.

### Do I have to set up anything per page?

No selectors or rules. You choose the page and Plainrival reads all of its text.
