# A weekly competitor brief with at most 7 items

Every Monday, the few competitor changes a GTM manager needs to know, each with why it matters and one suggested move. By email, in the app and in Slack.

Published 30 September 2026.

## What it does

One short read a week: at most 7 changes, ranked by how much each one matters to you. Each says what changed, why it matters and one thing to do. The rest stays in the change history, and the brief says how many it left out.

- **Judged against your positioning.** Plainrival drafts a summary of what you sell and to whom. You correct it once.
- **Every source in one place.** [Website changes](https://plainrival.com/features/website-change-tracking), [pricing changes](https://plainrival.com/features/pricing-tracking) and [complaint signals](https://plainrival.com/features/complaint-signals).
- **Where you already read.** Email, the app and a Slack channel you choose.

## How it works

1. **Plainrival watches all week.** Pages are checked daily, signals every few hours. Each change gets an importance score.
2. **It keeps the few that matter.** On Monday morning it ranks the week's changes and keeps at most 7.
3. **You read one short brief.** What changed, why it matters, one suggested move and a link to the source.

## Questions

### When does the brief arrive?

Every Monday morning, in your workspace's timezone.

### Why at most 7 items?

A brief with 30 items is a list nobody reads. Seven fits the moves that matter. The rest stays in the change history.

### How does Plainrival know what matters to me?

It compares each change with your positioning summary: what you sell, to whom and how you differ. You set it once, when you create your workspace.

### Where can I read it?

In your inbox, in the app and in a Slack channel. Your AI assistant can also fetch it through the Plainrival MCP server.

### What happens to the changes that didn't make it?

They stay in each competitor's change history, dated and searchable. The brief shows how many it left out.
